Kym Corridan is an Irish pianist, piano teacher and play-based piano pedagogy specialist from Riverstick, Co. Cork.  Selected by the as one of Ireland’s Rising Stars in 2022, Kym has established herself internationally as both a dynamic performer and dedicated music educator.

She holds both a Bachelor (BMus) and Master of Arts (MA) in Piano Performance with both with distinction from the MTU Cork School of Music, Ireland, where she studied with renown Irish pianist and pedagogue Mary Beattie, as well as chamber and vocal accompaniment under the tutelage of Dr. Gabriela Mayer and masterclasses from international concert pianist Barry Douglas. In addition to her musical training, she also holds a Bachelor of Education degree with a specialism in arts education from UL Mary Immaculate College Limerick, providing her with a strong foundation in early childhood and primary education.

Kym has performed solo and chamber recitals at venues and concert series across Ireland, Austria and Australia, from the the West Cork Music Festival Young Musician Series and Kinsale Arts Festival in Ireland, to performing with the Salzburg State Theatre in the Felsenreitschule in Salzburg, Austria to the Heath Ledger Theatre at the State Centre Theatre of Western Australia and the Octagon Theatre at the University of Western Australia in Perth. A multiple prize winner at national competitions in Ireland Feis Maitiu, the Midleton Feis, and the MTU CSM Piano Accompaniment Competition, Kym was also awarded “Highly Commended” honours at the MTU CSM Advanced Recital Competitions in 2019 and 2021. She has undertaken masterclasses with internationally acclaimed pianists including Niklas Pokki of the Sibelius Academy, Finland and with the renowned Ukrainian pianist Anna Federova, and received private lessons from Rolf Plagge, Professor of Piano at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. 

Alongside her performing career, Kym specialises in play-based and child-centred piano pedagogy for young learners. She has undertaken further studies in Salzburg, Austria, where she also served as director of Music through English Salzburg, a private piano academy specialising in classical piano instruction. She is currently based in Perth, Australia, where she teaches piano both online and in person, and hosts professional workshops in piano pedagogy for the West Australian Music Teacher's Association.
